Raynham planning officials are pushing for a facelift along Route 138, asking developers to provide detailed renderings to ensure new projects match the town's vision.
At a recent planning board meeting, members stressed the importance of improving the look of Route 138, a major road in Raynham.
The board looked over a site plan for a proposed light manufacturing facility at 140 Broadway, focusing on how the building's design would affect the area's appearance.
"Right now, our main concern for Route 138 is improving the overall look," one board member said.
The board asked for more detailed renderings from John Angelo, who plans to move his small machine shop to the new site. They want to see how the building will fit in with the rest of Route 138.
"We need to see more detailed renderings of the site from different angles," another board member added.
The new facility would replace an existing house with a light manufacturing building of similar size. Angelo explained that the move would allow his business, which has been in Raynham since 1984, to grow from its current 800-square-foot location.
Board members also talked about possibly connecting the new site with Angelo's existing property at 150 Broadway, suggesting a walkway between the two.
The planning board continued the public hearing to April 3, asking Angelo to provide more detailed renderings and architectural plans for review.
Key points from the meeting included:
- Reviewing the site plan for 140 Broadway light manufacturing facility
- Asking developers for detailed renderings
- Considering a walkway between 140 and 150 Broadway
- Continuing the public hearing to April 3
- Approving a minor change to the Sandy Hill estate subdivision
- Discussing access to a pump station through a private road
- Reviewing invoices and bills
